I feel like the Cosmonaut in Armegeddon when they pull straws near the end. “What is zee’s? Iz zis’ gud’?”
I’m assuming that looks very similar to what a weapon upgrade looks like, a gem, or enchant, etc? And you have to put these into a collection to deliver to a specific NPC, I gather?
It’s a “purple” artifact, so when I first saw it I immediately thought, HOLY SHIT EPIC!!! LOL…only when I read it did I realize I’ve been had 😛
And yeah, there are numerous artifacts scattered all over Telara, and you collect them and put them into sets. When you complete a set, you can turn it in for a lucky coin and other rewards. With lucky coins, you can buy cosmetic items like vanity pets, costume pieces and instruments and stuff 😀
Now see, *that’s* a well made achievement-based system. Actually able to use the things you accrue by doing zany stuff. Gloating about pets and the like is far more impressive than flexing in front of a useless point system.
It’s like that one guy that got all the achievements in WoW. First, he could never have done it solo, that was a guild effort. Second… why? What did he get for it? News blips stating that “a player finally beat the World of Warcraft!”
I have a couple from that collection. I love it. It’s nice that the game, as grim as it is, finds a way it inject a little humor here and there without overdoing it.
I have to say, I did not expect much humor from Rift when I first started playing. It just felt like a “serious” game. Glad to see that’s it’s not all so bleak 🙂
I’m still working on those tears! Did you know after you complete that set you can get a pet, a ghost-looking cat named “Spirit of Tears?” I love it, can’t wait to get mine!
Cool. I interested to find whose face that is on the right end of the collection.
Ha, I just noticed that…grim. Though when I roll over it, the text says “Game Changing Twist” hmm!

ROFL. I really like the sense of humour in RIFT 🙂 I especially love the animal tears artifact set. The quotes on each of those are great! 🙂

Better log in soon and check mine 🙂
Hey, I haven’t seen you on lately!
I picked up a couple of those in Droughtlands the other day. Both times I kinda went “purple! oh wait” becuz I knew it was arrtifacts, not weapons.
That said, I found a nice purple sword out of a cairn for my warrior yesterday. Now to gain 5 more levels so I can use it. . . . .
Oh nice! I’ve only found greens and blues out of my cairns, you lucky you!
